About Jim Deupree

Jim has a broad set of experiences that have proven a tremendous asset to his senior executive and business owner clients:

  • Entrepreneur — Founded three companies, privately raising $3.5 million in capital and serving as CEO for one of the companies. He has helped improve the business plan for several start-ups, reviewed hundreds of business plans as an angel investor, and developed an extensive understanding of the private equity community.
  • Blue-Chip Company Executive — Held a wide range of executive and management positions, including sales, planning, business practices, industry requirements, strategic partnerships, and management consulting. Other industry experience includes the Ford Motor Company and The Coca-Cola Company, and manufacturing, distribution and financial services in general.
  • Consulting — Headed IBM’s management consulting practice for the Financial Service industry in the Southeast U.S. Transitioned from IBM to Senior Vice President of a regional consulting company, with responsibility for all consultants and client results. Founded Partners in Ethics, helping CEO’s and Boards instill a combination of ethical behavior, good business practices and compliance as a core part of their management system.
  • Governance — Jim has served as President of the Atlanta Chapter of the National Association of Corporate Directors, co-founded and served as President of the Atlanta Chapter of CEO Netweavers, and now serves on the national board for CEO Netweavers, is an active member of the Association for Corporate Growth and the Board of Directors Network, and a past member of the Southern Center for Professional and Ethical Behavior.
  • Has served on six non-profit boards, the executive committees on five of those as as Chairman of one.
  • Has served on the Advisory Board of a private company serving the private equity community, which was subsequently acquired by a major national bank
  • Author — Has authored two books, and had dozens of articles published

He holds a B.S. degree in Mathematics from Western Michigan University.

Jim is very active in a host of leadership and governance organizations — and enjoys peer credibility.  Active memberships include The National Association of Corporate Directors, The Association for Corporate Growth, CEO Netweavers, the Board of Directors Network and Entrepreneur Advisors.  He sits on the National Board of CEO Netweavers and the Advisory Board for the EMBA Program at Kennesaw State University.

Participation in these organizations keeps his understanding of the latest issues and opportunities current. His leadership in these organizations is appreciated, and is the catalyst for a wide array of relationships that are beneficial to our ChapterTwo clients.
